For my free inquiry project for EDCI 336, I was thinking of doing something related to learning the ukulele. I thought I could potentially document my process of how I learn it and how I can teach it to others. I have always had a natural ability to learn new instruments on my own fairly easily. When I was younger I would teach myself new instruments like the keyboard, the guitar, the drums, etc. as a fun pass time. I think it would be interesting to have everything written down on a blog that I can always go look at and see my progress, my setbacks etc. A potential inquiry question I could use is “How can we learn to love practicing a new instrument and share this love with others?” I believe this could end up being my free inquiry project topic but I could also go in a completely different direction and choose something related to cooking because I really liked the blog example #1, it contained a lot of fun recipes and I actually enjoyed looking through it. I love cooking and following new recipes. A potential inquiry question I could use is “How can we learn to cook in a healthy but inexpensive and non time consuming way?” I still have some deciding to do but I am looking forward to accomplishing whichever idea I choose.
